The Accommodation/The Pricing

The house itself, while large and imposing, from within retains the feel of a warm and welcoming family home, with central heating and newly redecorated. It normally accommodates 16 people in 8 bedrooms with a combination of double/twin beds, many with sea views. Two of the larger rooms have sofa beds, bringing the total up to 20, if required. One bedroom with an en suite shower room is on the ground floor, four on the first floor and three on the top floor. There are 4 additional bath/shower rooms, some of which can be en suite if preferred. There is a gigantic farmhouse kitchen/breakfast room with four oven Aga and an additional electric double oven with hob, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge freezer and washing machine.

There is a grand entrance hall with original tiles and the main staircase leading off. The drawing room is light and airy, with french windows to the garden, comfortable seating and an open fire, the dining room seats up to 18, has an open fire and upright piano (of the ‘honky-tonk’ variety!) There is also a library with comfy chairs and a separate downstairs W.C. On the lower level is a vast cellar with original wine bins and full sized billiard table.

Outside is a large patio area, a pretty gazebo, woodland walk and extensive lawns and parkland – all overlooking nature reserves to the sea. There is ample parking space directly outside the house and additional parking for larger functions close by.

The Price

Lorton House is available from £1500 for a weekend (4pm Friday – 10am Monday) or for a mid-week break (4pm Monday – 10am Friday). Weekly rates according to season.

One third of the fee is required to secure a booking and the balance due 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.

All beds will be made up and the house warm, ready for your arrival. Smoking or stag parties are not permitted.
